cheerleading: a coach's point of view
Cheerleading is a sport...
give me one good reason it's not.
It's tough... We get hurt, we have victories, we have losses, we stretch, we fight, we exercise, we stick heart and soul in to it... We bring it all!!! We work hard, we lift people throw and cradle with perfect form.. I'd like to see you do that! we have to be flexible, strong, and coordinated with a lot of balance. Seriously let me see you stand on one foot in the air with nothing but 1-4 people supporting you. Back handsprings, front handsprings, front and back flips, toe touches, hurkies, pikes, back tucks, full twists, round-offs, cartwheels, hurdlers, tuck jumps, spread eagles, pyramids, hitches, liberties, basket tosses, ect.
Cheerleading is a sport...
I think i just proved it...

Scoliosis....
So i freakin have scoliosis... lovely... my back freakin hurts like crazy and I don't know what to do about it... here's a little background thanks to www.iscoliosis.com/causes.html
Scoliosis is not a disease—it is a descriptive term. All spines have curves. Some curvature in the neck, upper trunk and lower trunk is normal. Humans need these spinal curves to help the upper body maintain proper balance and alignment over the pelvis. However, when there are abnormal side-to-side (lateral) curves in the spinal column, we refer to this as scoliosis.
Scoliosis affects 2% of women and 0.5% of men in the general population. There are many causes of scoliosis, including congenital spine deformities, genetic conditions, neuromuscular problems and limb length inequality. Other causes for scoliosis include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy and tumors. Over 80% of scoliosis cases, however, are idiopathic, which means that there is no known cause. Most idiopathic scoliosis cases are found in otherwise healthy people...
there is treatment but no cure... SUCKS!!!!
Here's what they don't tell you.... It hurts like crazy... it's not easy to handle... it's not fun!!! and it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (monkey balls)
It just seems unfair!!!!!
I have to many freakin problems but i'll go over that in the next blog....
back to the subject....
ever wonder y it effects more women than men????
lets see.... http://www.scoliosis.org/resources/medicalupdates/scoliosisandpregnancy.php
Because progressive scoliosis is so much more common in women than in men, doctors at the Alfred I duPont Institute in Wilmington, Delaware studied 355 female patients to determine the effect of pregnancy on curve progression.
huh... that's not fair it's just because guys cant get PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW UNFAIR IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW I HATE EVE!!!!!!!!
lol read the freakin bible if you don't know what I'm talking about... Genesis to be exact...
anyway any more questions about it just ask... i'll find some acurate information for you...
